A shocking incident has come to light in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. An 18-year-old girl reached the police station here. The story told by the girl in her complaint letter left the police officers stunned. The girl told the police that 70 people raped her in the last five years. The accused would take her to their house and commit atrocities on her. The girl told the police that she was being raped since the age of 13. Since the girl is a minor, the FIR has been registered through the Pathanamthitta Child Welfare Committee.

65 accused arrested

CWC Pathanamthitta district president N Rajeev said that CWC has lodged a complaint with the Pathanamthitta SP on this issue. Police have started investigation and cases have been registered in various police stations across the district. Police have so far arrested 65 people in the sexual abuse case in Pathanamthitta district. Police say that some more people are yet to be arrested. Police say that soon the remaining accused will be arrested and sent to jail. Cases have been registered against the accused under serious sections. DSP rank police officers are investigating the entire case.

Rape happened for the first time in 2019

The victim said that she was sexually abused for the first time in 2019 by a boy studying in her school. At that time I was only 13 years old. After this, the sexually abused boy told his friends about the girl, and then they also blackmailed the girl and made her a victim of lust. The girl got selected for sports. After joining the sports team, the girl told her ordeal to the coach. But instead of helping, the coach made the girl a victim of his lust. The girl informed her relatives about the rape. But they also sexually abused the girl.

Most of the accused are known to the girl.

According to Rajeev N., chairman of the Pathanamthitta Child Welfare Committee, the girl first spoke about the sexual abuse in a school counselling session. A police case was registered after the Child Welfare Committee intervened. Most of the accused who sexually assaulted the girl are coaches, classmates and local residents. Cases have been registered in various police stations in the district under the POCSO Act and other sections. The girl is currently with the Child Welfare Committee. Officials associated with the committee are demanding punishment for every accused. Police are also taking action.
