17 days after the wedding, the bride sent a wedding photo from her maternal home, with her first husband… the groom reached the police station
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, the newlywed bride reached her maternal home just 17 days after marriage. Her husband kept calling her back but she kept making excuses. Then after a few days, she sent such pictures to her husband on Facebook, after seeing that he reached the police station. He filed a case of fraud and theft against the bride. But when no action was taken, he sought help from the SP.
The case is of Janakganj police station area. Here in Gol Pahadiya Janakpuri, a person named Santosh Prajapati lives, who works in a private company. Santosh, who reached the SP of Janakganj, expressed his pain and asked for help from him. Said- Sir, I have been visiting the police station for the last 6 months. But my case is not being looked into properly. The victim said- I was looking for a bride for marriage. In August 2022, Nitin Prajapati and Anjali Kushwaha got me married.
He said- Both are my acquaintances. They came home and told me that in their view she is an educated girl of the Prajapati community. Her parents are also looking for a good boy. Nitin and Anjali showed me the girl.
They even made me talk to her once. Then I said yes. The girl's name was told to be Anjali Prajapati. I got engaged to Anjali Prajapati on 3 October 2022. We gave her a gold ring, gold earrings, silver anklets, an expensive Titan watch, and a gift of 11 thousand rupees. The marriage took place on 14 February 2024 at the Jain Dharamshala, Mama Ka Bazaar in the city. The gold offering of 4 lakh rupees was given.
Santosh further said- 3 days after the marriage, Anjali Prajapati was taken away by her parents. After Holi, on 28 March 2024, I reached my in-laws' house. I brought my wife home after her first farewell. 14 days later, on the morning of 10 April, I left for work. When I returned at 7 pm, she was not at home. I came to know that she had gone to her maternal home. When I called, she said that she would return in two to three days. But she did not return. Meanwhile, one day I checked the locker of the cupboard and found that Anjali had also taken away the jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh and Rs 25,000 cash given at the wedding.
The first marriage took place last year.
The victim said- When I asked my wife about this, she said that she is returning on 15th May. Then I will bring all the stuff. But in the evening her mother called and said that Anjali had run away. After this, she sent her wedding photos through Facebook Messenger. She had married someone named Abhishek Vanskar. When the fraud was discovered, when we talked to Nitin and Anjali Kushwaha who had arranged the marriage, they said that we had arranged the marriage, and we did not care whether your wife stayed or ran away. Then when we investigated, the truth came out. Anjali had married Abhishek on 23 October 2023 itself.
Middlemen were witnesses to the first marriage.
If Santosh is to be believed, the main witnesses of the bride's first marriage were Nitin and Anjali themselves, who had also arranged Santosh's marriage. This means that both of them already knew that Anjali Prajapati was married. Santosh alleged that even then they arranged Anjali's marriage with him.
The victim has accused the bride of taking away gold mangalsutra, gold necklace, gold garland, gold nose ring, gold Om locket chain, silver jewelry, Rs 25,000, and all the jewelry presented at the engagement, which amounts to about Rs 5 lakh.
The SP ordered the police to investigate the matter thoroughly. If the bride is found guilty, strict action should be taken against her. Action should also be taken against the middlemen who deceived Santosh and arranged the marriage.
