What is the story of the film?

The story of the film 'Vidamuyarchi' begins with a married couple Arjun (Ajith Kumar) and Kayal Arjun (Trisha Krishnan), who have been married for 12 years. Kayal wants to divorce her husband because she has fallen in love with someone else. To give their relationship a chance, Arjun leaves for Azerbaijan with Kayal. Several kilometers behind Azerbaijan, on a deserted road, some goons follow them and spoil the car when they get a chance. During this, Kayal meets a married woman in a mall located at a petrol pump, who tells him that her husband will take them to a cafe in a truck from where they can decide their further path.

The twist in the story comes when the married couple takes only Kayal with them. After a few hours, Arjun reaches the same cafe in his car where the couple had said they would take Kayal. There he finds out that his wife had not come there. He asks people but even the police do not help him. Arjun takes many risks to save his wife and then he comes to know about a dangerous gang. Whether he is able to save Kayal or not is the biggest suspense of the film.

Remake of this American film

'Vidamuyarchy' is a Hindi remake of the 1997 American film 'Breakdown'. It has a rating of 6.9 out of 10 on IMDb. This action-thriller film was earlier scheduled to be released during 'Pongal' but due to some reason the release of the film was postponed. It has been released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.

Box Office Collection of 'Vidamuyarchy'

According to Pinkvilla's report, talking about the box office collection of the film 'Vidamuyarchy', it opened with Rs 25.50 crore in Tamil Nadu on the opening day. On the second day, its earnings fell by about 60%. However, in its first week itself, the film earned more than Rs 71 crore. Worldwide, 'Vidamuyarchy' has collected more than Rs 135 crore.
