Today, even though the famous folk singer Sharda Sinha is battling between life and death, it is also true that in Bihar, whether it is an auspicious event or Chhath Puja, it is not considered complete without the songs sung by her in various languages. Today, the whole country is praying for her better health. The turning point in the life of Sharda Sinha, who came out of a small village in Supaul district of Bihar and made her mark at the world level, was the moment when for the first time her sister-in-law taught her to sing a Neg i.e. a ritual song.

The way Sharda Sinha earned fame by singing Bhojpuri songs, very few people will be able to do that. Apart from Bhojpuri, Sharda Sinha has equal command over Hindi, Maithili and English languages. Sharda Sinha herself had admitted in a conversation that she was very fond of singing songs since childhood. She used to sing in the courtyard of her house. Her sister-in-law taught her to sing the Neg song for the first time. The lyrics of that song were something like this - Dwar ke Chhaikai Neg Pahle Chukaiya Ek Dulruwa Bhaiya Tha. This was the song that Sharda Sinha sang for the first time and this proved to be the turning point of her life.

Although Sharda Sinha had sung songs in many Bhojpuri films and albums, but her own favourite Bhojpuri song was, 'Lali Laali Hothwaan Se Barse Lalaiya Ho Ki Ras Chuela, Jaise Amwa Ke Mojra Se Ras Chuela Tha' from the Bhojpuri film 'Ganga Maiya Tohe Piyaari Chadhaibo'. Sharda Sinha, who is fond of eating Paan, has her favourite food as chura, creamy curd and green chillies.

Sharda Sinha often used to say that if someone wants to learn Bhojpuri, then the easiest way is to speak in Bhojpuri. Recalling her childhood days, she once said that when she was studying in school, she went to bathe in the Ganga on the day of solar eclipse with her friends without telling her principal. By the time she returned, the principal had come to know about this. Then the principal punished her to stand in the sun for four hours continuously. And Sharda Sinha stood in the sun for four hours continuously. Sharda Sinha's favorite saying in Bhojpuri is 'Gaache Kathar Othe Tel'.

Clean songs will create your identity

Sharda Sinha has said on many platforms that the new generation of Bhojpuri singers have great potential. They all need to use their potential in a creative direction. If they sing good and clean songs, they can get a better identity.
