Patriotism is not like perfume… Anu Kapoor's tears flowed while talking about the country.
Bollywood veteran actor Anu Kapoor recently talked about patriotism in an interview. During this, he was seen getting very emotional. He said that he is very loyal to the country, apart from this he talked about his American wife. Anu Kapoor said that he has never applied for a green card and neither will he ever apply in the future. The actor has also expressed his anger towards corruption in the country and society.
Anu Kapoor has worked in many great films, his acting has always been praised. However, he has always presented himself as a patriot in front of everyone. Recently, the actor has openly spoken about taking citizenship of another country, he said that he would prefer to die before taking the passport of another country. Along with this, he also talked about his American wife Anupama, and his children being American and said that I have never imposed patriotism on them.
While talking to ANI, Anu Kapoor said that there is no dearth of people dying in this country and what respect have we given to those who die, as soon as 15th August or 26th January comes, patriotism starts awakening in people's minds. People remember patriotism while hoisting the flag on the cricket field. Remembering Amitabh Bachchan, he said that when I said this, he felt bad, but his wife praised me. Amitabh Bachchan did not understand this, so he commented on me.

Anu Kapoor said that people think patriotism is like perfume, as soon as a special occasion comes, they spray it on themselves. He further said that I want to tell people that if your patriotism is based on time and occasion, then it is not patriotism. Anu Kapoor never applied for citizenship of another country, he said, "This country may throw me in a drain, shoot me, or not give me anything, but it is my compulsion that I am loyal to my country."
Along with this, the actor expressed his anger towards society and said that your country is corrupt, pompous, and completely pretentious. Its leaders are also a part of it. Only one to two percent of people in the country are honest and these two percent of people are kept under the shoes of the remaining 98 percent corrupt people.
