OMG, 2 director Amit Rai revealed- Akshay Kumar asked him to shoot the masturbation scene properly to avoid criticism!

OMG 2, directed by Amit Rai, is holding its ground at the box office. Starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, the film revolves around a middle-class father who spreads awareness about a very sensitive yet important subject. It highlights the importance of sex education while actively debunking prevalent misinformation.

However, the makers faced several setbacks while releasing the film, which was later given an 'A' certificate by the censor board after some modifications.

In an interview with ANI, Amit Rai spoke about how Akshay was deeply involved in the making of the film and how his advice helped avoid criticism on certain scenes.

Amit said, "From entertainingly narrating the script to other actors to listening to it and memorizing all the scenes, Akshay sir was deeply involved in the making of OMG 2 as an actor and a producer. He acted as a creative producer." He did. He even improved it." He informed about making changes to some scenes to avoid criticism. For example, in the masturbation scene, he asked me to shoot it properly and said, 'We'll see about it later.' I'm very open about how I want to tell my stories." 

He further added, "Censor rules dictate that you cannot show a child below 18 years like that under the POCSO Act. When the film was cleared by the Censor Board, they reminded me that 'Sir I used to tell you but you remained adamant. On shooting it that way. If you want to change it now, you don't have to shoot it again. you do not have time.' He has experience of over 300 films and I am learning from his experience."

OMG 2 has so far collected over Rs 85.05 crore in its first week. Seeing his film doing very well at the box office, Amit Rai said, "This week films have created history. We can now say 'Long Live Cinema'. The viewership and collections at the box office prove that if you make good films. The audience will always appreciate you."
