Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's statement has created a political uproar. Leaders of many other opposition parties including Congress have opposed her statement regarding the farmers' movement. Now Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has also jumped in protest against the statement of the BJP MP. The former Congress President has called the statement of the BJP MP shameful and anti-farmer.

Rahul Gandhi has posted on social media saying that the government's propaganda machinery is constantly engaged in insulting the farmers. This government has failed to fulfill the promises made to the farmers. BJP MPs are calling the farmers who sacrificed 700 comrades in the 378-day-long struggle as rapists and representatives of foreign forces. This is another proof of BJP's anti-farmer policy and intentions.

Calling the BJP MP's statement shameful, he said that the anti-farmer statement is a grave insult to the farmers of the entire country including western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, which cannot be accepted under any circumstances. The government committee formed during the farmers' movement is still in cold storage.

The government has not been able to clarify its stand on MSP to date. During the agitation, no relief was given to the families of the martyred farmers, and on top of that, their character was being maligned continuously. The government's betrayal of the farmers cannot be hidden by disrespecting the food providers and attacking their dignity. No matter how much conspiracy the BJP hatches, India Alliance will ensure that the farmers get a legal guarantee of MSP.

Before the statement of the Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi also hit back at the BJP MP. He said that Kangana has insulted the farmers of the country, and has done it continuously and repeatedly. BJP cannot wash its hands off the statement of its MP by just issuing a statement.

On the other hand, the BJP has distanced itself from the statement of Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut. BJP says that the views expressed above on farmers are her personal views. BJP has nothing to do with this. Officially, the BJP has said that she should avoid making any such statements in the future.

What did Kangana Ranaut say?

Recently, Kangana Ranaut gave her views on the farmers' movement in an interview to a newspaper. She had said that if the top leadership of the BJP was not strong, then Punjab would have been turned into Bangladesh during the farmers' movement. Along with this, she claimed that many murders and rapes took place during the farmers' movement. Now the opposition parties have attacked the BJP over this statement.
