Not Bhagyashree, but this heroine would have been 'Maine Pyar Kiya
I must have heard many stories of the film Pyar Kiya. But you know that for Suman's role, there was no one but Bhagyashree. Actresses who have done a lot of work from Bollywood to TV. But due to the height being more than Salman Khan, she was rejected.
Salman Khan made a splash through the film Maine Pyar Kiya. The pair of Salman Khan and Bhagyashree was a hit with this film. Sooraj Barjatya's film set the box office on fire. But an unheard story has now been narrated by famous actress Upasana Singh. Who has done a lot of work from films to TV. Upasana Singh, who is also a part of The Kapil Sharma Show, said that she was jected from the film due to being tall. Let's tell you what the story is.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Upasana Singh talked about her career and how she was thrown out of the film 'Maine Pyar Kiya' because she was taller than Salman Khan. If this had not happened, she would also have been a part of this hit film.
Upasana Singh said, "Sooraj Barjatya told me about the film and my role. They had even selected me. After that he said that you come tomorrow and meet my father. Everything else is fine. When I met his father the next day, he rejected me. He was very sweet, he did not refuse me on the face. But later I didn't get a call for work, so I understood."
However, Upasana Singh later worked with Rajshri Productions in Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor's film Main Pyaar Ki Deewani. He said that once while working on the set of this film, Rajkumar Barjatya (producer) had admitted that he was the first choice for Suman (Bhagyashree's role).
Upasana Singh said, "Everyone was together on the set that day. Hrithik, Kareena and Abhishek. Then he said that I know who was the first choice for love? It was worship. Upasana then questioned him that after all, you did not choose me for the film. Then he said, 'If I had chosen you, you would have also left films like Bhagyashree.
Upasana Singh told that Rajkumar Barjatya had told her that she was taller than Salman Khan. He wanted a girl who was slightly shorter in height than Salman Khan. That's why that film was not given to Upasana Singh, but to Bhagyashree.
