Nattu Kaka of 'Taarak Mehta' said goodbye to the world!


Actor Ghanshyam Nayak, best known for playing the role of Nattu Kaka in the classic sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, passed away on Sunday evening, news agency PTI reported. Ghanshyam Nayak was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year - the veteran actor passed away after a long battle with the disease.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi shared the news of the actor's death in a tweet on Sunday. Speaking to PTI, Mr. Modi revealed that Ghanshyam Nayak was facing health complications for the past few months and his health had deteriorated in the last few days.

The makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah mourned the demise of Nattu Kaka, tweeting: "Sad to inform all of you with a heavy heart about the passing of Shri Ghanshyam Nayak Ji who played the role. # Nattu Kaka in TMKOC. Ghanshyam Ji has been an invaluable member of our TMKOC family for all the 13 years of our time."
PTI quoted Asit Kumar Modi as saying, "He passed away this evening. He was not well for a long time. He had cancer." He said that despite health complications, Ghanshyam Nayak always wanted to be a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: "He always wanted to keep shooting. Even though he was unwell, he was always happy with work. But shooting for him was difficult to do. He was very unwell for the last two days." Earlier this year, while undergoing chemotherapy, Ghanshyam Nayak filmed an episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Ghanshyam Nayak was an integral part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, in which he played the role of Nattu Kaka.

Ghanshyam Nayak's impressive resume as an actor has featured in hundreds of films in both the Bollywood and Gujarati film industries. Ghanshyam Nayak has also acted in more than 300 television shows. Ghanshyam Nayak was a prominent personality of Gujarati theatre. Ghanshyam Nayak is survived by a wife and three children.
