If he slapped a woman, pinched her navel then… Why did Siddharth miss out on stardom? He broke his silence after years

If you have seen Aamir Khan's film 'Rang De Basanti', then you must remember actor Siddharth. In this film, he was seen in the role of Karan Singhania. Siddharth left his mark through this character. The actor recently appeared at the Hyderabad Literary Festival, where he spoke to Aditi Rao Hydari's mother Vidya Rao Hydari, and discussed why he missed stardom. He said that he refused to play such roles in which toxic masculinity was shown. Due to this, he had to lose some scripts.
Siddharth openly admitted that he did not do such roles and hence he could not emerge as a commercial film hero in the industry. During this, Siddharth mentioned many different types of scripts.
Siddharth asked why he did not get stardom.
Siddharth said that he had to make comments like slapping women or looking down upon them. He refused such roles. He said that perhaps by playing such roles he could have become a big star. The actor said, "I used to get such scripts in which I would slap women, do item songs, pinch someone's navel, tell a woman what she should do, where she should go etc. But I refused them outright. If I also thought like this, then I would definitely have been a big star today."
Siddharth will be seen in this film
Siddharth further said, "Today people tell me that I respect women, I am very good with parents, I was good with children and I looked very cute. Their children can still watch my films of 15 years ago." Siddharth was last seen in a film named 'Miss You'. The film received a mixed response and performed average at the box office. He is next set to act in Kamal Haasan's film 'Indian 3'.
