Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2 is garnering praise from the audience and despite getting an A certificate and clashing with Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide in its first week. However, there are rumors that the film is made on a budget of Rs 150 crore and Akshay has taken a huge amount for the film. However, producer Ajit Andhare has finally broken his silence on the same.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Ajit Andhare confirmed that the budget of the film is not even close to the figures doing the rounds and said, “The reports of the budget of OMG 2 are highly exaggerated. In contrast, Akshay did not charge a single rupee as a fee and in fact, walked with us in both the financial and creative risk involved in such a daring film.

He further added, “We have a long history and understanding with them as a studio since OMG1, Special 26, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and I have been completely on board with them in taking up scripts that are unconvincing but Meaning is full. It would have been impossible to take this risk without him, he was so fully invested creatively and financially."

Earlier a source told Pinkvilla that OMG 2 has been made in a controlled budget and said, “OMG 2 has been shot in a controlled environment, like most social dramas made in the Hindi film industry. The cost of production is a little under Rs 50 crore. For the unaware, OMG (2012) was also made at a controlled cost of only Rs 25 crore.

Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 is a spiritual remake of Umesh Shukla's hit film OMG: Oh My God! The film stars Akshay Kumar as the messenger of Lord Shiva, Pankaj Tripathi as Kanti Sharan Mudgal, and Yami Gautam as lawyer Kamini Maheshwari. The film also stars Pawan Raj Malhotra, Govind Namdev, Aarush Verma, Arun Govil, and Brijendra Kala in supporting roles. The film was released on 11 August and had a clash with Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, however, despite this, the film collected Rs 85 crore in its first week and crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide.
