Before joining "Naagin," Mouni Roy battled serious health issues, a fact she openly shared during an interview with Mashable India. Recalling her ordeal, Mouni disclosed, "Before 'Naagin,' I was in a phase where it felt like my life was at its end... I was severely unwell." Following her participation in "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9," she struggled with L-4-L-5 issues, which left her unable to stand straight. To manage her condition, she had to rely on a regimen of 30 pills a day along with frequent injections.

During this tumultuous period, Mouni Roy was confined to bed rest for three months. It was during this time that she received the offer for "Naagin." Reflecting on her state at the time, she remarked, "I don't even know how much weight I had gained... it was a dire situation." Despite her initial reluctance, Mouni eventually accepted the role.

Moreover, she had reservations about taking on another fantasy fiction series after her stint in "Devon Ka Dev Mahadev." However, her meeting with Ekta Kapoor, the producer of "Naagin," changed her perspective. Mouni was impressed by Ekta's passion for the project and the compelling storyline she narrated. Thus, she enthusiastically agreed to be part of "Naagin," expressing her satisfaction with the decision.

This journey showcases Mouni Roy's resilience and dedication to her craft, making her a celebrated figure in the entertainment industry.
