CID-fame Dinesh Phadnis passes away at the age of 57!

Dinesh Phadnis, who played the role of Fredericks in the popular police procedural television show CID, died at the age of 57 on Tuesday, December 5 at 12:08 am. His last rites will be performed today at Daulat Nagar crematorium in Mumbai. The actor was admitted to Tunga Hospital in Mumbai a few days ago.

His CID co-star Dayanand Shetty, who plays Daya, confirmed the news to ETimes and said, "Yes, it is true that he is no more. It happened around 12:08 am. I am at his residence right now. The last rites will be held today at the Daulat Nagar cremation ground. Almost all the CID personnel are present now."

His other CID co-leader said, "Dinesh left us around 12:08 am. We know he had liver problems and it affected other organs. He was actually unwell for two or three days. He couldn't escape." star Aditya Srivastava, who plays Abhijeet, told PTI.

One of the famous faces of the film and TV industry, Phadnis also acted in films like Sarfarosh and Mela. The late actor is survived by his wife Nayana and a daughter named Tanu.
