Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in 'Ramayana' passed away due to a heart attack
Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan', died in Mumbai on Tuesday night. He died due to a heart attack and the non-functioning of many organs.
Mumbai. The industry has lost another gem after the sudden demise of 'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' fame Ghanshyam Nayak. Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan', died in Mumbai on Tuesday night. According to media reports, Arvind Trivedi was ill for a long time and died due to a heart attack and the non-functioning of many organs. His last rites will be held in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. He was 82 years old.
According to ABP News, Arvind Trivedi's nephew Kaustubh Trivedi confirmed the death of his uncle. He told that he was running ill for the last several years. For the last 3 years, his health had started deteriorating very badly. He had to be hospitalized several times during this period. He had returned home from the hospital only a month ago. He suffered a heart attack around 9.30 pm on Tuesday night. He breathed his last at his house in Kandivali.
Arvind Trivedi is best remembered for playing the role of Ravana. He has worked in many popular Gujarati films. His career lasted for 40 years in Gujarati cinema. Apart from 'Ramayana', he also showed his performance in another popular TV show 'Vikram and Betal'. He also acted in about 300 films including Hindi and Gujarati. The late actor also acted in several social and mythological films.
Apart from a successful career in Indian cinema, Arvind Trivedi was also a Member of Parliament from 1991 to 1996. He was elected from the Sabarkantha constituency. Arvind Trivedi became its working chairman after the resignation of filmmaker Vijay Anand as the chairman of the Censor Board for Film Certification (CBFC).
Last year during the lockdown, the cult TV show 'Ramayana' was aired again on Doordarshan and it was well-liked by the people. After the resumption of this epic show by Doordarshan, all the actors of the show again came into the limelight and many of them joined Twitter. Arvind Trivedi also took to Twitter after his former 'Ramayan' co-stars Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia took to Twitter.
