Raju Srivastava dies: PM Narendra Modi reacts to the death of veteran comedian!


Veteran comedian Raju Srivastava died on Wednesday after spending 40 days at a hospital in Mumbai following a heart attack. He was 58 years old. The comedian who worked in films briefly joined politics in 2014 after a stint in the Samajwadi Party. He was a member of the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the actor-comedian saying that he will live on in the hearts of the masses.


PM Modi's reaction to Raju Srivastava's death is as follows: "Raju Srivastava brightened up our lives with laughter, humor, and positivity. He left us too soon but he will continue to live in the hearts of countless people who have lived through the years. Thank you for your rich work. His passing is sad. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti."

Union Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the comedian. In a tweet in Hindi, Singh described the actor as an accomplished artiste and a great personality.

The minister tweeted: "I am deeply saddened by the passing away of popular comedian-actor Raju Srivastava. Apart from being an accomplished artist, he also had a very lively and cheerful personality. He was also very active in the field of social activities. My condolences to his bereaved family and his fans."


Raju Srivastava suffered a heart attack on August 10 when he was exercising at a hotel in Delhi. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

His brother Deepu Srivastava told PTI from Mumbai, "I got a call in the morning that he passed away. This is really unfortunate news. He was battling for life in the hospital for more than 40 days."
