The government came forward for this and started the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Through this the bank account of the poorest of the poor people could be opened with zero balance. After this, the benefits of social security schemes are also being directly delivered to the beneficiaries through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).

Through this, the aim is to open savings bank accounts for these people, make the way for providing loans to them easier, and ensure insurance and pension facilities. Under this scheme, the government has given such a facility to those opening accounts that they can open their account in the bank with zero balance. No identifier was required for this.
