  • Due to weak global cues, the stock market opened on the red mark on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The Bombay Stock Exchange's major index Sensex opened at 58,663.73 with a fall of 352.16 points or 0.06 percent. On the other hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened at 17,458.80, down 126.40 points (0.72 percent). 650 shares rose in early trade, 1333 shares declined and 127 shares remained unchanged. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex had gained 710 points or 1.21 percent.

These factors will decide the direction of the market

This week the direction of the stock market will be decided by the global trend. Investors will be watching the decision of the US Federal Reserve on interest rates. Apart from this, the trend of foreign institutional investors, volatility of the rupee against the dollar, and Brent crude oil prices will also decide the direction of the domestic market.

Most of the heavyweights

to heavyweight stocks, today in early trade, HCL Tech, ITC, TCS, Hindustan Unilever, and Nestle India shares open green. Whereas UltraTech Cement, L&T, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, Sun Pharma, Reliance, Bajaj Finserv, Titan, Doc Reddy, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, Maruti, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, HDFC, Shares of Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, M&M, SBI, Bajaj Auto and Tata Steel opened on the red mark.

During the pre-open, this was the condition of the stock market

During the pre-open at 9.01 am, the Sensex was down 212.89 points (0.36 percent) at the level of 58803. While the Nifty was down 180.90 points (1.03 percent) at 17404.30.

Sensex-Nifty opened at higher levels on Friday

The stock market opened at a higher level on Friday. The Sensex opened at 59422.39 with a gain of 281.23 points or 0.48 percent. On the other hand, Nifty opened at 17709.20 with a gain of 79.70 points (0.45 percent).

The market had closed on the red mark in the last session, profit-booking was seen in the stock market after the day's volatility. The Sensex closed at 59,015.89, down 125.27 points (0.21 per cent). On the other hand, Nifty closed at 17,585.15, down 44.35 points (0.25 percent).
