NSE BSE 14 October 2021: Sensex closed above 61 thousand for the first time by increasing 568 points, Nifty also gained
Today, the last trading day of the week i.e. on Thursday, the stock market closed again at the highest level after the day's ups and downs. The Bombay Stock Exchange's flagship index Sensex closed at 61,305.95 with a gain of 568.90 points (0.94 percent). On the other hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 18,338.55 with a gain of 176.80 points (0.97 percent). Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 1,293.48 points or 2.20 percent. Tomorrow the stock market will be closed on 'Dussehra'.
Shares of IRCTC and Avenue Super Mart rocked
Shares of IRCTC and Avenue Super Mart crossed Rs 5,300 today. The share of IRCTC has risen 10.94 percent to Rs 5467.35 on BSE today. Shares of DMart also rose 4.04 percent to Rs 5,329.65. The market capitalization of IRCTC stands at Rs 87,477.60 crore. While the market capitalization of Avenue Super Mart is Rs 3,45,241.24 crore.
The market capitalization of BSE has reached Rs 2,72,77,292.79 crore. The top 17 companies account for about 37 percent of the market capitalization. While the top 50 companies account for about 55 percent of the market capitalization. That is, about 150 lakh crores are with 50 companies.
Such was the condition of giant stocks
Talking about the big stocks, after the day's trading, the shares of Adani Ports, Wipro, Grasim, HDFC Bank, and ITC closed on the green mark. On the other hand, shares of Tata Motors, Coal India, Eicher Motors, HCL Tech, and HDFC Life closed on the red mark.
Keeping an eye on the sectoral index
If we look at the sectoral index, today all the sectors except auto closed on the green mark. These include financial services, FMCG, IT, pharma, realty, media, banks, private banks, metals, and PSU banks.
The market was open at the highest level in the early trade
The Sensex opened at 61125.16 with a gain of 388.11 points or 0.64 percent in early trade. At the same time, the Nifty opened at 18279.50 with a gain of 117.70 points (0.65 percent).
The market closed at the highest level in the last session
In the previous session, the stock market closed at the highest level after the day's volatility. The Sensex closed at 60,737.05 with a gain of 452.74 points (0.75 percent). On the other hand, Nifty closed at 18,161.75 with a gain of 169.80 points (0.94 percent).
