New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday seized assets of the prime accused in a case related to an encounter involving a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist. Shelter, food and intelligence were provided.

The spokesperson further said that as part of its operation against terror networks in Kashmir, the NIA has seized immovable properties worth 19 marlas of Dar at Halpora, Kokernag area, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. The seizure was made under sub-section (1) of Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Uzair Khan was killed in an encounter in 2023 in the Guri Nad forest area of Kokarnad area. He said that four security personnel were also killed in the encounter.

Mohammad Akbar Dar was arrested on 20 September 2023, when 40 live rounds of AK-47 and other incriminating materials were recovered from his house. The statement said that a chargesheet was filed against him in March 2024 before the Special Court of NIA, Jammu under Section 120-B of the IPC, Section 25 of the Arms Act 1959 and Sections 18, 19, 38 and 39 of the UA(P)A, 1967.
