Jharkhand Govt Jobs: Recruitment for 550 Home Guard posts, know how to apply!

Jharkhand Government has announced the recruitment of Home Guard for rural and urban areas in Bokaro district and the process will start soon. The online registration for the vacancies will start from May 29 and the application form costs Rs 100. Interested candidates who belong to the state can apply for the vacancies on the official website recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in till 5 PM on June 12.

The special thing about this year's recruitment is that out of the total vacancies, about 50 percent of vacancies have been reserved for women. Out of 553 posts, 280 are reserved for men and 273 for women. The screening test of applicants will be conducted from June 30 to July 10 and the technical scrutiny test will be conducted from July 13 to July 15. The physical and written test will be conducted at Mohan Kumar Mangalam Stadium, Sector 4, Bokaro Steel City.

The requirements for the position differ between urban and rural applicants. For Rural Home Guard, the minimum educational requirement is a class 7 pass. However, for Urban Home Guard, it is mandatory to have a 10th pass.

Uniform physical requirements have been prescribed for urban and rural home guard candidates and the height has been fixed at 162 cm for men (General/OBC/BC) and 157 cm for SC/ST. The height requirement for females is 148 cm (same for all) and the chest is 79 cm (General/OBC/BC) and 76 cm (ST/SC) for males.

The physical test will consist of a 1-mile run, high jump, long jump, and shot put, where applicants will be marked on a scale of 5 to 20. Thereafter, candidates will have to appear for a Hindi written aptitude test, where their language proficiency will be tested. After the selection of a candidate, their background check will be done and all their documents and character certificates will be verified.

After the entire process, the selected candidates will be given basic training in Provincial Home Guards under the orders of Headquarters Jharkhand Home Defense Corps, Ranchi. On successful completion of training, they will be enrolled as Home Guards and will be issued Enrollment Certificates as per provision.

The age limit for all the candidates, male and female, is 19 to 40 years.
