LIC Buys IRCTC Share: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has increased its stake in Indian Railways company IRCTC. After this, LIC's stake in IRCTC has increased to 9.3 percent. The public sector insurance company said in the information given to the stock market that the company's stake in Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has increased by 2.02 percent through transactions in the open market during December 16, 2022 to September 11, 2024.
Increased stake by 2 percent
The insurance company said, 'LIC has increased its stake in the equity shares of IRCTC from 5,82,22,948 shares (7.28 percent) to 7,43,79,924 shares (9.29 percent).' In this way, LIC has purchased 16,156,976 shares of IRCTC. LIC said that it has increased its stake in a small government company (Mini Ratna) of Railways by 2.02% between December 16, 2022 and September 11, 2024. It has increased this stake by purchasing shares from the open market.
Promoters' stake is 62.4 percent
Talking about the shareholding pattern of IRCTC, the promoters' stake is 62.4 percent. Apart from this, public shareholding is 37.60 percent. Among the promoters of the company, the President of India has 62.4 percent shares i.e. a total of 49,91,72,170 shares. Let us tell you that IRCTC is a Miniratna company. With this, the market cap of LIC has reached Rs 6,52,391 crore. Apart from this, IRCTC shares also saw a rise and it rose by about one percent to reach Rs 931.
