Indian Railways: Lakhs of railway employees will win a lottery on Diwali! Will the bonus increase by Rs 28200?
Railway Employees Bonus: The union of railway employees has requested Ashwini Vaishnav to calculate the bonus given on Diwali according to the salary of the Seventh Pay Commission. If the government decides on this, an employee will benefit by at least Rs 28200.
7th Pay Commission: If you yourself work in the railways or any member of your family is in the railways, then this news is of your use. Yes, a group of railway employees has requested Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to calculate the bonus (PLB) on the basis of the Seventh Pay Commission instead of the Sixth Pay Commission. Sarvjeet Singh, National General Secretary of the Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF), said that the current bonus is based on the minimum salary of Rs 7,000 per month as per the Sixth Pay Commission. However, under the Seventh Pay Commission, the minimum salary is Rs 18,000. Railway employees are getting this from January 1, 2016.
The hard work of the employees increased the income of the railways.
He said that calculating PLB on the basis of minimum salary of Rs 7,000 is injustice to the employees. Many IREF members said that during the nationwide lockdown in the Covid pandemic, when people were not coming out of their homes, at that time the railway employees ensured the movement of trains. It is clear from the quarterly report that after this there has been a tremendous increase in the income of the railways. Let us tell you that the discontinuation of the concession given to senior citizens by the Railways during Covid has affected the profit of the Railways.
Railway employees get 78 days bonus.
IREF stressed that as per government instructions, railway employees should get PLB bonus equal to 78 days basic salary. But the current payment is only Rs 17,951 on the basis of Rs 7,000. Singh said that under the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum basic salary in railways is Rs 18,000. Therefore, the bonus of Rs 17,951 for 78 days is very less. This is quite worrying amid rising inflation. He said that as per the basic salary of Rs 18,000, the bonus for 78 days is Rs 46,159.
How will the benefit of Rs 28,200 be there?
