For the past few weeks, gold has been trading in the red zone. On Friday (August 20) on the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for October delivery closed with a marginal gain of 0.1% at Rs 47,174.
The current fall could be a lucrative investment opportunity for investors planning to buy gold as experts suggest that the price may reach north of Rs 50,000 in the coming days.
Talking about the price of gold in metro cities, 24-carat gold is currently being sold at Rs 47,400 per 10 grams while 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 46,400 per 10 grams on Saturday (August 21).
In India's financial capital Mumbai, 22-carat gold and 24 carats gold per 10 grams is being sold at Rs 46,390 and Rs 47,390 respectively. Meanwhile, in Chennai, 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 44,640 per 10 grams while 24-carat gold is being sold at Rs 48,700.
Coming to Kolkata, 22-carat gold is retailing at Rs 46,580 per 10 grams, while 24-carat gold is trading at Rs 49,280 per 10 grams.
