DA Hike News: The DA hike of central employees has been due in January. However, it can be announced by March. On the other hand, the Manipur government has increased the DA of employees by 7 percent on the occasion of New Year.

On the occasion of New Year, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has given good news to the state government employees. Biren Singh has announced to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees by 7 percent from January, 2025. With this hike, the DA has increased to 39 per cent. Singh also spoke about several ongoing government initiatives ranging from supporting businesses to undertaking startups. He said that the state government has given loans without any guarantee to 426 internally displaced people under the Chief Minister's Entrepreneurship Assistance Scheme.

DA will increase from January 2025

Thousands of government employees will benefit from this announcement of the state government. With this increase, the DA will increase to 39% from January 2025. He said that the government is giving a loan of Rs 50,000 without any guarantee to the people displaced due to caste violence. In another important announcement, Singh revealed plans to train around 500 youth in Delhi to hire cabin crew in leading airlines Air India and IndiGo.

The

training program will be funded by the Ministry of Tourism, in which priority will be given to displaced people from the area. The chief minister also informed that under the 'One Family, One Livelihood' scheme, the government is providing loans of up to Rs 10 lakh with 30% subsidy to help 5,000 families. So far, 745 beneficiaries have been selected and nine loans have been disbursed. In his address, Singh also highlighted several key initiatives aimed at boosting the state's economy, supporting entrepreneurship and assisting the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) affected by ethnic violence.

Under the Chief Minister's Entrepreneurship Assistance Scheme, the government has already disbursed collateral free loans to 426 internally displaced people, enabling them to start or expand their own business. To further improve connectivity, Singh informed that the Manipur state government, in collaboration with Alliance Air, will start additional flights from Imphal to three major cities from January 2025. The government will subsidise ticket prices, which will keep fares below Rs 5,000 for a year.
