Stock Market: The stock market recovered from the fall of the previous day, Sensex jumped more than 500 points, Nifty also rose
The Indian stock market opened on the green mark on the fourth trading day of the week amid strong global cues. The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened at 56,186 with a gain of 517 points or 0.93 per cent, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened at 16,835 with a gain of 157 points or 0.94 per cent. With the opening of the market, about 1610 shares have risen, 395 shares have declined and 60 shares have remained unchanged.
Earlier in the last session, after the announcement by RBI to increase the repo rates by 20 basis points, suddenly there was an earthquake in the stock market and the market collapsed. On Wednesday, the BSE Sensex closed at 55,669, down 1306 points or 2.29 per cent. Due to this big fall in the Sensex, investors lost Rs 6.27 lakh crore in one stroke. On the other hand, NSE's Nifty slipped 391 points or 2.29 per cent to close at 16,678.
