Stock Market: The stock market recovered from sluggishness, Sensex rose by more than 290 points, Nifty crossed 17100

On Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week, the stock market started with an increase. The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share index Sensex opened at 57,115 with a gain of 296 points or 0.52 per cent, while the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange gained 93 points or 0.55 per cent to open trading at 17,132 level.

With the opening of the market, about 1525 shares have risen, 398 shares have declined and 78 shares have remained unchanged.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian stock market had finally closed on the red mark after a day's trading openly with a fall. The BSE Sensex index slipped 538 points to 56,819, while the NSE Nifty index closed 162 points lower at 17,038.
