Stock Market: Share market broke again today, Sensex fell more than 480 points, Nifty opened below 17000

The stock market started on the red mark on Monday on the first trading day of the week amid weak global cues. The 30-share Sensex index of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened at 56,577, down 483 points or 0.85 per cent, while the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange slipped 145 points or 0.85 per cent to start trading at 16,958 below 17 thousand.

As the market opened, about 786 shares rose, 1425 shares declined and 118 shares remained unchanged. Earlier, on the last day of the last trading week on Friday, the market opened with an increase and finally closed on the red mark. The 30-share Sensex index of BSE closed at 57,061, down 460 points or 0.80 per cent, while the NSE Nifty index slipped 142 points or 0.83 per cent to end at 17,102.
