Stock Market Closed: After a sharp start, the stock market fell, Sensex fell 700 points, Nifty below 17000


On Tuesday, the stock market started with an increase, but during the day's volatile trading, this boom did not last long and the stock market fell for the second consecutive day. The 30-share index Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange closed at 56,463, down 703 points or 1.23 per cent. On the other hand, the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange slipped 215 points or 1.25 percent to close at 16,958.


Earlier, amid positive global cues, the Indian stock market opened on the green mark, recovering from the heavy fall of the previous day. The BSE Sensex opened at 57,436 with a gain of 269 points or 0.47 per cent, while the Nifty of the NSE opened at 17,266 with a gain of 93 points or 0.54 per cent. With the opening of the market, about 1687 shares had risen, 328 shares declined, while 65 shares remained unchanged.


Talking about the last trading day, there was a big earthquake in the stock market on Monday and both the indices closed with a huge fall. The BSE Sensex index closed at 57,166, down 1172 points or 2.01 per cent, while the NSE Nifty index slipped 292 points or 1.67 per cent to end at 17,184.
