Meenakshi Lekhi's visit to Chile: Meeting with business delegation, discussing opportunities for bilateral cooperation and investment


Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi is currently on an eight-day visit to South America and during this she visited Chile. Here he also met the Chilean business delegation. Bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities were discussed during the meeting.

It noted that the interaction with the Chilean business delegation was excellent, thanks to Richard von Appen, President of the Association of Chilean Industry, for organizing it. Our growing bilateral cooperation in trade and commerce, investment opportunities were discussed with the business delegation. It would be beneficial for Chilean companies to do business with India, the statement said.


During her visit, Meenakshi Lekhi also visited the Parliament of Chile and participated in the parliamentary session. The MoS also discussed a range of issues with the President of the Chamber of Deputies (the lower house in the Chilean Parliament), Raul Soto Deputado. During this, both had in-depth talks on the growing partnership between India and Chile. Meanwhile, Lekhi also met Cicardini, Member of Parliament, Chairperson of the India-Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group, and exchanged views on women's empowerment and child care.
