It was decided in this that the income scale up to Rs 3 lakh will not be applicable for the purchase of EWS flats.

The authority has done away with the requirement of having an annual personal income of less than Rs 3 lakh. Till now applicants seeking allotment under EWS were required to submit two documents. This had to prove that the applicant's annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh. Along with this, the applicants used to give information that their family income is less than Rs 10 lakh. This made it very difficult for people to obtain certificates. Because most of them were people who did not file ITR returns.
