Scientists were surprised to see the miracle of urine of old nuns of Italy, they gave birth to children to lakhs of women, thousands of liters of urine were filled in tankers and sent

Old Nuns of Italy: You must have heard many stories about the exploits of your nuns. But do you know that the lives of many women have changed because of the old nuns of Italy. Let us tell you that many women have attained happiness due to the prayers of old nuns and their urine. This is quite surprising but it has been revealed in a report. After a research by Italian scientist Piero Donini, some people and companies have done this.
In the 1940s, Italian scientist Piero Donini discovered that two special hormones, LH and FSH, help women get pregnant. He conducted research and found that these hormones are present in higher amounts in the body of women who have stopped menstruating. This happens because the body releases hormones to produce eggs but the ovaries do not respond.
Donini thought that if these hormones were extracted from the urine of menopausal women, they could be used for women who were unable to conceive. Donini made a drug from these hormones and named it 'Pergonal'. Pergonal means derived from the gonads (ovaries and testicles).
Thousands of liters of urine needed
Now there was a new problem, how to make this medicine on a large scale and where to get so much urine? This could not be solved for many years. After this, in the 1950s, a Jewish scientist Bruno Lunenfeld came to know about Donini's discovery. Lunenfeld wanted to do further research on this medicine but thousands of liters of urine were needed to make the medicine.
Permission to collect urine from nuns
A pharmaceutical company showed interest in it but they too could not find a way to collect urine on such a large scale. Then Giulio Pacelli, a member of the Vatican (religious headquarters of the Pope of Rome), helped. He said that his uncle Pope Pius considers this work a 'sacred work' and he would allow collecting urine from nuns living in old age homes in Italy. After this, the urine of old nuns started reaching the lab of the Sirono company in tankers from different old age homes in Italy. According to calculations, 10 days of urine of 10 nuns was required for one dose of the medicine.
Women all over the world benefited
In 1962, with the help of this medicine, an Israeli woman became pregnant and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. This was the first child born from Pergonal. Soon the success of this medicine increased so much that women all over the world started getting its benefits. By 1970, this medicine became common in America as well. Millions of women started taking it to conceive. However, this medicine was not cheap. The cost of one treatment was about 10 thousand dollars.
In 1982, the US government also approved this drug for the treatment of infertility in men. In many men, sperm production stopped due to a problem with the pituitary gland. Pargonal helped in this too and thousands of men succeeded in becoming fathers.
More than one child at a time
Due to Pergonal, many times more than one child was born at a time. In 1985, a woman in America gave birth to 7 children at once. This case was so big that she filed a case of negligence against the doctors and the hospital and won compensation of 2.7 million dollars (about 22 crores rupees). However, scientists improved the use of the drug, which reduced the incidence of multiple births at once.
Synthetically produced hormones
By the 1980s, the demand for this drug increased so much that 30 thousand liters of urine was needed daily. This was not possible, so scientists started making this hormone artificially in the lab. In 1995, the first lab-made drug 'Gonal-F' was approved. After this, the need for the urine of old nuns ended.
