Raja Mansingh's mysterious treasure on which Indira Gandhi's intentions got spoilt! Pakistan also demanded a share
We have been hearing since childhood that India was once a golden bird. The reason behind this is that years ago our country was a storehouse of gold. The earlier kings and Maharajas had immense wealth. But later many of India's reserves became empty after being looted by foreign invasions.
However, even today there are many such treasures in India about which very few people know. One of these was the gold treasure of Raja Mansingh which was dug overnight. Not only this, but after digging this treasure, Pakistan also demanded its share. Let us know about the gold treasure of Raja Mansingh..
Raja Mansingh was one of the nine gems of Akbar
Let us tell you, that Raja Man Singh was one of the nine gems of Emperor Akbar. He was fondly called 'Raja Mirza'. Raja Man Singh helped Akbar win a historic war. Apart from this, he also played an important role in the battle of Haldighati between Akbar and Maharana Pratap.
Not only Raja Mansingh but his father Raja Bhagwandas also fought many wars for Akbar. In such a situation, Akbar handed over the power of Bihar, Bengal and Orissa of India to Raja Mansingh. During this time, Raja Mansingh attacked many princely states after which he accumulated immense wealth.
Raja Mansingh had looted gold from Kabul
Meanwhile, Akbar sent Raja Mansingh to Kabul where he fought fiercely with the robbers. Birbal was killed while fighting with the robbers. Meanwhile, Raja Mansingh avenged Birbal's death by killing the chieftain of the Yusufzai tribe. It is said that Raja Mansingh looted a lot of treasure from the robber chieftains here, which included many diamonds, jewels, and several tons of gold and silver. In such a situation, he hid this treasure in the fort of Jaigarh, hiding from Akbar.
According to the book “Haft Tilismat-e-Ameri” written in Arabic language, “The Seven Hidden Treasures in Amer, the treasures looted from Afghanistan and different kingdoms of India. It also reveals the treasure hidden in the Jaigarh Fort of Raja Mansingh and writes that Raja Mansingh has hidden so much treasure in the Amer Fort in Jaipur, with which many kingdoms could have fed themselves for thousands of years.” According to this book, “There are seven huge water tanks built under the Jaigarh Fort which have the capacity to store 6 million gallons of water. Raja Mansingh had hidden the treasure here.”
Indira Gandhi had a clue about this treasure.
Very few people knew about the treasure hidden in the Jaigarh Fort. But suddenly in the year 1976, it started being discussed and Indira Gandhi came to know about it. Let us tell you, when Indira Gandhi came to know about it, she had a grudge against Maharani Gayatri Devi of the Jaipur royal family. Actually, Gayatri Devi had defeated Congress candidates thrice in the Lok Sabha elections on the ticket of the Swatantra Party, so Gayatri Devi and Indira Gandhi did not get along at all.
Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi declared an emergency in 1975. During this time many people raised their voices against the government, including Maharani Gayatri Devi. Gayatri Devi was put behind the bars of the jail. After this, Indira Gandhi discovered the gold mine and got it excavated with the help of the army.
But later he denied that any gold was found there. However, it is said that Indira Gandhi kept the gold as her own instead of the Delhi government.
Pakistan had asked for a share
These days, when the treasure was being discussed everywhere, the neighbouring country, Pakistan, also came forward to demand its share in it. In August 1976, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto wrote a letter to the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and said, "The work of searching for the treasure is progressing in your country. I want to remind you that you will take care of Pakistan's claim on its fair share of the property found during that time."
After this letter, discussions about this treasure started everywhere in India. Not only this, Indira Gandhi was also surrounded by many questions. In such a situation, she immediately wrote a letter to Pakistan and said, “We had asked our legal advisors to study the claim made by you on behalf of Pakistan.
They clearly said that you have no legal right to make this claim. Anyway, no treasure has been found here.” After this, the matter cooled down. The Indian government also did not investigate this treasure. In such a situation, this treasure of Raja Mansingh again became a mystery for the people.
