Offbeat: Why was Duryodhan repeatedly showing three fingers to Shri Krishna while dying? Know the reason here
Duryodhana was arrogant and unrighteous and because of him the destructive Mahabharata war took place. Because of him the entire Kaurava clan was destroyed and the earth had to lose several lakhs of warriors.
At the end of this war, when Bhima attacked Duryodhan's thigh and put him on his deathbed, he started making some gestures by repeatedly showing three fingers to Shri Krishna. But what did these three fingers mean?
Then Shri Krishna went to him and asked him the reason for showing these three fingers. Then Duryodhan said that I have made three mistakes in the war, because of these mistakes I have lost and am on my deathbed today. Otherwise he would have won the war. Then Shri Krishna asked him about his mistakes. He said that my first and foremost mistake was that I chose Narayan Sena and not Narayan. If I had chosen you then the result would have been different.
Duryodhan told his second mistake that my mother was repeatedly asking me to come in front of him naked but I still went wearing a loincloth made of leaves. If I had gone naked, I would not have been killed by any weapon.Duryodhan called his arrival at the end of the war his third mistake. He admitted that if he had arrived at the beginning of the war, he would have understood a lot. His brother and friends' lives could have been saved. After listening to all the things said by Duryodhan, Shri Krishna said that it was not these 3 mistakes but your being unrighteous and arrogant that was the reason for your defeat. Then Duryodhan realized his mistake.
