We all know how much devotion and reverence Hanuman ji had for Lord Rama. When Shri Ram conquered Lanka, he returned to Ayodhya with Hanuman ji. But perhaps you may not know that once a situation arose where Lord Rama was forced to use Brahmastra against Hanuman. Hanuman was extremely surprised but he could not understand why Lord Rama wanted to kill him? We are going to tell you about this.

Story

One day, while travelling, Narad Muni reached Ayodhya and met Hanuman. He thought of testing Hanuman and advised him to greet all the sages in Rama's court, but not Vishwamitra, as he was the first king. Following Narad's advice, Hanuman greeted all the sages except Vishwamitra. Narad then went to Vishwamitra and provoked him, due to which Vishwamitra got angry and went to Lord Rama.

Vishwamitra ordered Lord Rama to kill Hanuman. Rama could do nothing against his Guru's command and he showered arrows on Hanuman. Unaware of the reason behind this attack, Hanuman started chanting the name of Rama. Remarkably, the arrows did not affect him.

Lord Rama then used the Brahmastra, yet this powerful weapon could not harm Hanuman. Seeing this, Sage Narada confessed his mistake to Vishwamitra and urged him to stop Lord Rama. Through this incident, Hanuman showed that the name of the Lord is more powerful than the Lord himself.
