You must be aware of the story of Mahabharata. But every character of Mahabharata has its own important role. There is some special reason for the birth and death of everyone. Today we will tell you how the entire Mahabharata incident happened due to a curse. King Shantanu was a man named Mahabhis in his previous life. To understand the story of Shantanu, listen to the story of Mahabhis.
Mahabhisha had seen Ganga's breasts
King Mahabhis had earned so much merit that he went to Indra's heaven. There he danced with Apsaras to the music of Gandharvas, drank wine and the wish-fulfilling tree Kalpataru gave him everything he wanted. One day Mahabhis went to meet Brahma ji with all the gods, where Goddess Ganga was also present. Just then a strong wind started blowing and Goddess Ganga's pallu flew away. All the gods looked away, but Mahabhis could not stop himself. He looked directly at her bare breasts. Goddess Ganga too was attracted towards Mahabhis and started looking at him.
Brahma gave a curse
Brahma was angered by this and cursed Mahabhisha and Ganga. Brahma cursed Mahabhisha to return to earth and cursed Ganga to break his heart by taking human birth. Mahabhisha was reborn as King Shantanu of Hastinapur. King Shantanu, fascinated by the beauty of Goddess Ganga, married her. Goddess Ganga laid a condition before him that she would drown all his children. So Ganga drowned seven of her sons. Bhishma was the eighth son of Ganga. King Shantanu stopped him from drowning in Ganga, but in return, Ganga left him.
