Maruti Ertiga's popularity in the 7-seater car segment is unmatched. In the months of September and October, this car created a new record. It became the best-selling car in the country by beating popular models like WagonR and Baleno. Now it may have to face a new challenge at home. Maruti Suzuki India is going to launch another 7-seater car. Recently, it has been seen being tested on the roads.

Maruti Suzuki is testing its 7-seater SUV Maruti Grand Vitara (7-seater). Its design has been inspired by its upcoming first electric car Vitara.

Spy Photos surfaced

Many spy photos of the testing of this car have surfaced. According to a report by ET, a camouflaged version of this car has been seen on the roads. Probably the company is doing on-road testing of this car. This will be a new entry in Maruti's SUV portfolio. Currently, the company has SUVs like Fronx, Brezza, Jimny, and Grand Vitara. Ertiga and XL6 are 7-seater MPVs.

How will the Grand Vitara 7-Seater be?

According to the information that has come out, the Grand Vitara can have a 1.5-liter petrol or hybrid petrol engine like the current car. In this, the hybrid engine will work to give an extra boost to the car. However, its wheelbase will be larger, so that third-row seats can be included.

The company can modify its engine to maintain boot space. The new 7-seater Grand Vitara is also likely to get a vertical touch screen and ADAS suite. Since Ertiga does not fall in the SUV category, it can give direct competition to the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra Scorpio N, and MG Hector Plus in the market.

Maruti Suzuki is also going to launch its first electric car Maruti Suzuki eVitara, based on the Grand Vitara, soon.
