But, now Tata Punch has overtaken it in this matter, which has become the best-selling SUV of the company and is also the best-selling SUV in the country. In May 2024, Tata Punch topped the list of best-selling SUVs while Tata Nexon could not even get a place in the list.

Tata Nexon, which was once the best-selling SUV, dropped out of this list. In May 2024, Nexon sales declined by 21% over the previous year. It sold 14,423 units in May 2023, which dropped to 11,457 units in May 2024. This caused it to drop out of the list of top 5 SUVs. However, it remains in the sixth position. It is now the second best-selling SUV of Tata Motors after Punch.

The Nexon is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in four trims - Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. It comes in 7 color options - Calgary White, Daytona Grey, Pure Grey, Fearless Purple, Flame Red, Creative Ocean, and Atlas Black. It competes with the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300 in the market.

It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Its 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine generates 120PS/170Nm and the 1.5-liter diesel engine generates 115PS/260Nm. The petrol engine comes with 4 transmission options – 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT, and a new 7-speed DCT while the diesel engine can be had with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AMT.
