Skoda Kylaq Production Begins in India: The Skoda Kylaq offers 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, ISOFIX mounts and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers.
Skoda Kylaq Production Begins in India: Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has started production of the Skoda Kylac at its high-tech manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This announcement has been made on behalf of the company. Promoting the "Make in India" initiative, the company is preparing cars following its high standards.
It is the fifth car from the company to be built on the strong MQB-A0-IN platform. The Skoda Kylac is designed with safety, comfort, quality and global design in mind.
How much is the price
The Kylaq has been launched at a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings for the compact SUV have already started on December 2 and deliveries will commence on January 27, 2025. The price of the car is an introductory price which will be increased further. The arrival of the Kylaq will now give tough competition to popular models like Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Kia Sonet.
Exteriors
Design-wise, the Kylaq features Skoda's signature styling with a bold grille and sleek LED DRLs with split LED headlights. Basically, it looks like a Kushaq. The model has been launched in olive gold color.
What's special in the interior?
Built on Skoda's MQB-A0-IN platform, the interior of the Kylaq is feature-rich, including a 10.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster and rear AC vents. It has in-demand features in the Indian market like a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and leatherette upholstery.
Safety Features
In terms of safety features, all variants are offered with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, ISOFIX mounts and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers. One standout feature is the operated seat adjustment for both the driver and the front passenger. The Kylaq gets a 446-litre boot, which can be extended with a 60:40 split-folding rear seat.
Engine and Power
The Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque. It is available in two transmission options, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Skoda claims that the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 10.5 seconds.
