Sales of cars and two-wheelers have increased, this report tells the condition of the auto sector.

January 2025 has been great for India's auto sector. Data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has arrived. Auto retail sales in January increased by 7 percent to 22,91,621 units. Passenger vehicle (PV) sales recorded a growth of 16 percent. With a growth of 16 percent, this figure reached 4,65,920 units. In the auto sector, growth has been seen in two-wheelers, three-wheelers, tractors, and commercial vehicles.
Growth in the two-wheeler segment
Talking about the two-wheeler segment, many new customers have joined this segment. Due to which growth has been seen in its sales. The two-wheeler segment has performed better in the first month of the year. A growth of 4 percent has been registered in the two-wheeler segment. On the other hand, if we compare it with January 2024, only 14,65,039 units were sold last year. In the year 2025, the figure increased to 15,25,862. 5 percent growth has been seen in cities. On the other hand, if we go towards rural areas, a growth of 4 percent has been recorded in the auto sector here. This jump has happened due to the wedding season, new bike launches and the facility of getting easy loans.
Growth in commercial vehicles
In the first month of the year, the commercial vehicle segment has seen a growth of 8 percent. This figure has reached 99,425 units. This segment has benefited greatly from the growth in demand for cargo vehicles and passenger vehicles.
Tractors and three-wheelers are also not far behind in terms of sales
In terms of sales, while there has been growth in the sales of two-wheelers and passenger vehicles, tractors and three-wheelers are also not lagging behind. The tractor segment has registered an annual growth of 5 percent. Its sales figure reached 93,381 units in January. The three-wheeler segment has grown by 7 percent.
According to the report, the month of February will also prove to be beneficial for the auto sector. This month too, growth can be seen in the sales of cars, two wheelers and three wheelers.
