Earlier it used to be that the best selling car used to be some Maruti Suzuki hatchback, WagonR, Swift or Baleno. But now these cars are facing tough competition from SUVs. In the last few months, Tata Motors' micro SUV Punch has done wonders, it has been the best selling car for many months.

Dominance of Maruti Suzuki

Tata Punch again became the best selling vehicle, 18,238 units were sold in June. This vehicle was also at number 1 in March and April. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift also performed well by selling 16,422 units. At the same time, the new Hyundai Creta also maintained its dominance and 16,293 units were sold.

In June 2024, the MPV segment leader Maruti Suzuki Ertiga once again performed brilliantly and sold 15,902 units. This car was also ahead of the popular Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which sold 14,895 units. At number three was Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which sold 13,790 units.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the best-selling sedan, performed well again, selling 13,421 units in June. Maruti Suzuki Brezza is also doing well, selling 13,172 units in June. Mahindra Scorpio (both N and Classic combined) sold 12,307 units. Tata Nexon, which was India's best-selling SUV in the last three years (FY22, FY23 and FY24), finally made it to the top 10 list in June. It sold 12,066 units. It is worth noting that Nexon was not among the top 10 vehicles in April and May.
