Mahindra XUV700 sets record, covers 17,000 km in 24 hours
Mahindra XUV700 has created a new national record in the 24-hour Speed Endurance Challenge. Four XUV700 SUVs covered more than 4000-km to make this record. Whose speed was around 170-180 kmph.
Mahindra XUV700 Record Drive - During this event, the XUV700 became the first SUV to receive the coveted honor. The previous record of 24 hours testing in India was 3,161 km which was set in 2016. These cars were driven continuously for 24 hours at high speed. During the exercise, the average speed of all SUVs was kept in the range of 170-180 kmph. Apart from the national 24-hour endurance record, 80 more records were broken during this exercise.
The event was organized by EVO India, while the records were validated and verified by the India Book of Records. The endurance test took place under the stringent rules of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. These test SUVs were run by some automotive experts and enthusiasts. Of the four XUV700s during this record, the diesel manual version modeled the way with 4384.73 km on the record. The diesel AMT version covered 4256.12 km, the petrol manual 4232.01 km, while the petrol AMT model covered 4155.65 km.
Mahindra offers two engine options on the XUV700 - a 2.2-liter mHawk petrol engine and a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine. Both the engine options are mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The top-spec diesel trim gets front-wheel drive as standard with the option of an AWD system.
