How safe is your journey? Do buses and trucks also have safety ratings like cars?
The trend of safe cars is increasing rapidly in the country. Now Bharat NCAP crash test has also started, in which a safety rating is given by testing the safety features of the cars. Auto brands like Tata Motors and Mahindra make many cars with 5-star safety rating. Are buses and trucks also crash-tested like cars? Are buses and trucks also given a safety rating? This question is important because in our country thousands of road accidents happen every day due to buses and trucks.
If buses and trucks are safe, it will help in preventing deaths and injuries in accidents. Bharat NCAP has been started in India, but it only crash tests cars. Currently, there is no crash testing agency like Bharat NCAP for buses and trucks in the country like for cars. Therefore, buses and trucks do not get safety ratings.
When there is no safety rating for buses and trucks, how will we know if a bus or truck is safe? It is not that only a crash test makes a vehicle safe. This is just a test in which safety features are tested. Until the government in India brings in the facility of a crash test agency for buses and trucks, buses and trucks can be made safe by adding better safety features to them.
