High-security HSRP number plates of car-scooter have become expensive, now you will have to pay this much.

If you also drive a car, bike, or any three-wheeler, then big news has come for you. The government has made a big decision regarding the high-security number plate, which can have a direct impact on the people. The government has increased the fee for installing HSRP from Rs 531 to Rs 879. The new fee issued by the Transport Department includes the cost of the snap lock of the number plate as well as GST.

Where and for whom will the money have to be paid

The Maharashtra government has decided to increase the fee related to high security number plate. The new fee will be applicable in Maharashtra state only. The Transport Department said that this fee will have to be paid by those vehicle owners who have registered or purchased their vehicle before 1 April 2019. If they get the high security number plate installed now, they will have to pay more money.

However, the Transport Department has also clarified that the same price will not have to be paid for all vehicles. Two-wheelers like motorcycles and scooters will have to pay Rs 531 to get HSRP installed. Three-wheelers like auto-rickshaws will have to pay Rs 590 to get HSRP installed. Whereas, cars, buses, trucks and tanker vehicles will have to pay Rs 879.

18% GST will be levied

Maharashtra Transport Department has also told the rate of GST on installing number plates on all vehicles. According to reports, GST will be levied on all these vehicles at the rate of 18 percent. According to this, for installing HSRP, Rs 81 will have to be paid for two wheelers and tractors, Rs 90 for three wheelers and Rs 134.10 for four or more wheelers. At the same time, different prices will have to be paid according to the size of the number plate. For example, for two wheelers and three wheelers, Rs 219.9 will have to be paid for each HSRP plate of 200 mm x 100 mm and 285 mm x 45 mm. Rs 342.41 will have to be paid for the plate on four wheelers of size 500 mm x 120 mm and 340 mm x 200 mm. Apart from this, Rs 10.18 and Rs 50 will have to be paid excluding GST for snap lock and third registration mark for all types of vehicles.
