New BMW 5 Series LWB: The BMW 5 Series LWB has been unveiled. It will be launched in India on 24 July 2024. It is the third long wheelbase sedan in BMW's Indian lineup. Earlier, long wheelbase versions of the 3 Series Gran Limousine and 7 Series are available in the market. The new 5 Series LWB is the largest in its category, measuring 5,175mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,520mm in height. Its wheelbase is 3,105mm.

Its sporty Y-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels look good with the overall design. There is also an option of 19-inch wheels. The extended wheelbase has helped in offering more space in the cabin. The legroom has increased. Headroom is also adequate. The large windows and fixed moon roof let in a lot of light in the cabin, making the cabin feel more spacious. However, it does not have rear-seat adjustment and sunshades.

The fixed seat design focuses on thick cushioning for more comfort, which is set at a 31-degree recline. The 5 Series LWB has a dual curved screen layout with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. This setup gives a sporty and energetic feel along with luxury. Multiple crystal elements have been given in the cabin, which gives a greater feeling of luxury.

The interior has a vegan-upholstery design, open-pore wood, and metal speaker grilles. It also has front-seat ventilation, Matrix LED headlamps, and an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. The AC vents are placed in the cabin in such a way that they are not directly visible. There are also some ADAS features - front collision warning and braking, lane keep assist and parking assist but there is no adaptive cruise control.

It doesn't get in-door touchscreen controllers like the 7-Series but does get a touchscreen for rear climate control, as well as a wireless phone charger at the rear (separate at the front). It also gets Matrix LED headlamps and 6 USB-C ports.
