Before the winter season starts, get these 5 important things done on your bike
Bike Mileage: If these works are done on the bike before the winter season begins, then believe me, your bike starts working efficiently.
Bike Mileage: To run the bike better and maintain its performance in winter, some important maintenance work should be done on time. This will not only increase the life of the bike, but will also make your ride comfortable and safe. The following 5 things must be done on the bike before winter:
1. Checking and changing the engine oil
The quality of engine oil is very important in winters. Thick oil can make it difficult for the engine to work smoothly in cold weather. So, choose the right grade of engine oil for the bike and get the oil changed before the onset of winter. This will keep the engine properly lubricated and help in easy starting in cold weather.
2. Battery check
The battery can become weak in winters as the performance of the battery is affected in cold weather. So get the battery checked and make sure that it is charging properly. Also check the battery connections and if the battery is old, get it replaced so that there is no problem in starting the bike in winters.
3. Checking tire pressure and grip
Tyre pressure may drop in cold weather, which can lead to loss of control while riding. Keep the tyre pressure at the correct level and also check that the tread (grip) of the tyre is good. If the tyres are worn out, get new tyres installed so that there is less chance of slipping and you get better grip on the road.
4. Brake inspection and maintenance
Brake condition is very important in winter, as roads can be slippery in cold weather. Get the brake pads and brake oil checked and replaced if needed. It is important that the brakes work properly so that the bike does not skid when sudden braking is applied.
5. Checking the chain and suspension
Clean the bike chain thoroughly and lubricate it. The chain can dry out quickly in cold weather and this affects the performance of the bike. Also get the suspension checked and make sure there is no problem in it. A good suspension makes your ride comfortable and safe.
Additional Tips:
Keep the fuel tank full: Fuel condensation can occur in winter, due to which water can get mixed in the fuel. So keep the tank full.
Use bike cover: When the bike is not in use, keep it covered with a cover so that the bike can be protected from cold air and moisture.
By getting all these works done before winter, your bike will perform better even in the cold and you will be able to ride happily throughout the season without any worry.
