New Maruti Swift And Tata Altroz Comparison: New Maruti Suzuki Swift has been launched with a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Although the hatchback segment is gradually losing its popularity in India, there are still some challenger models to the new Maruti Suzuki Swift, one of which is the Tata Altroz. Tata Altroz is currently the only hatchback to come with all three powertrain options: petrol, petrol-CNG, and diesel. Let us take a look at the features, engine specifications, and price of both vehicles.
Features
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift gets 15-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting (with projector headlamps), new honeycomb grille. It is available in total 9 colors. The Swift cabin gets a redesigned dashboard and aircon vents, but the biggest change is the new floating infotainment system (9-inch display), which offers wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation, and connected car technology.
It also has a wireless phone charger. In terms of safety, for the first time in 2024 Swift, six airbags have been provided as standard, along with features like ABS with EBD, ISOFIX seat anchor points, stability control, reverse camera, hill hold assist, parking sensor, etc. are also available.
Now if we talk about Tata Altroz, this hatchback has projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and 16-inch alloy wheels, which give it a sporty look. Altroz competes with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Therefore, it is slightly larger and sportier in design than the Swift.
Altroz also gets a digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment system, connected car technology, smartphone connectivity, cruise control, and an electric sunroof with voice activation. In terms of safety, Altroz has received a 5-star rating from GNCAP.
engine
Swift has a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 82PS power and 112NM torque. It has the option of a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. The claimed mileage of the manual is 24.8kmpl while that of the AMT is 25.75kmpl.
The Altroz comes with three engine options – 1.2-litre NA (87bhp, 115Nm), 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol (108bhp, 140Nm) and 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel (88.77ps, 200Nm). There is also an option of CNG, which may also be available in Swift after some time.
price
Swift is priced between Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.65 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom pan-India). Whereas, the price of Altroz ranges from Rs 6.65 lakh to Rs 10.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
