KIA EV6 Electric Car can be launched in August, know what are the modern features


Kia is now about to introduce an electric car in the Indian market. The company will start booking this upcoming car from next month. At the same time, it is likely to be launched by August. This model will be brought to India through the CBU route.

 Kia is all set to expand its Indian product portfolio with a new electric crossover in the coming months. The automaker has confirmed that it will start pre-bookings for the Kia EV6 from May 26 and its market launch is likely to take place in August 2022. Only 100 units of the EV will be made available for sale for the first year. It will be sold through dealers in five metro cities. Since the model will be brought here through the CBU route, its estimated cost is between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh.

Globally, the Kia EV6 is offered with multiple configurations and battery sizes. In India, the automaker will bring in its top-spec GT-Line variant with a 77.4kWh battery pack and a dual e-AWD system. Its power and torque output can be given 320bhp and 605Nm respectively. Talking about the electric powertrain, the company claims that this vehicle can be driven up to 425km on a single charge. Talking about the speed, this vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in less than 3.5 seconds. The company may introduce its smaller battery pack variant with a single-motor, RWD setup sometime next year.

The Kia Electric crossover comes with a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system coupled with a 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster. The system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It has OTA (over-the-air) update. It could also get features like a WiFi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, an optional 14 speaker Meridian audio system, a voice-activated dual-zone front AC unit, and vegan leather seat trim.

Talking about the safety features, the EV6 will come with a host of safety advanced features including automatic emergency braking and automatic high beam, and driver assistance. Its global-spec model gets a blind spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist as standard safety fitments. It also gets Remote Parking Assist, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Multiple Airbags, Collision Mitigation (Rear), Aerial View Camera System, and many more.
