Auto News: New Hyundai Tucson premium SUV unveiled, advanced features like ADAS, know here...

Hyundai India on Wednesday introduced the premium SUV 2022 Tucson (2022 Tucson) for the Indian market. Indian car lovers have been waiting for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson facelift model for a long time. This SUV will be the flagship ICE offering from the carmaker. Based on Hyundai's Sensus sportiness design philosophy, the new Tucson gets a host of design updates that make it different than the outgoing model. Also, many features have been updated inside the cabin of the new Tucson. But most importantly, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson gets the Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS, which enhances the safety and driving capabilities of this car.

Was first launched in 2005
Hyundai Tucson has been present in the Indian market for a long time. Its first model to market here was launched in 2005. This was followed by the second generation Tushaw in 2009 and then updated in 2016 with the third generation model. But perhaps due to its placement in the premium SUV segment, it is nowhere near as successful as the newly launched Creta and Venue. But Hyundai is now looking at increasing the sales numbers for this car, despite the fact that it is finding it difficult to gain momentum in the premium SUV segment.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Exterior
The latest 2022 Hyundai Tucson in particular gets its front look defined by the large grille which is now integrated with the LED headlight units. The rear gets updated LED taillights that are connected to an LED light strip in the middle.

Cabin and Features
Coming to the cabin of the car, on the inside, the new Tucson comes equipped with an all-digital 10.1-inch driver display and another 10.1-inch main infotainment touchscreen unit. Talking about other features inside the vehicle, it includes other features like wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry, and auto-dimming IRVM.

ADAS and Safety Features
The new Tucson will be a big step up in comparison to the previous model. This will be the first car in the segment to come with the Level-2 ADAS feature. It will be offered with 19 Hyundai SmartSense ADAS (Hyundai SmartSense ADAS) features. Hill climb and descent control, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, automatic headlamps, tire pressure monitoring system, and ADAS level-2, cruise control with stop and go function, lane-keeping assist, high beam assist, vehicle Department Alerts, and much more.

Engine and power
The updated Hyundai Tucson will be made available in two engine options. Nu 2.0 petrol unit with 6-speed automatic transmission and new R 2.0 VGT diesel engine with 8-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine generates 156 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque. While the diesel engine produces 186 PS of power and 416 Nm of peak torque.
