What is the *99# USSD Code?
Let us tell you that in the year 2012, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced USSD code-based mobile banking. Initially, it was offered only for MTNL and BSNL customers. Later in 2016, the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) was launched and this UPI was made available for both smartphones and feature phones. *99# The purpose of launching USSD was to make digital payments available to feature phone users. Now *99# USSD code is available for all telecom companies.
How to send money without internet *99# with the help of USSD?
First of all dial *99# from any mobile (smartphone or feature phone).
Now a menu will appear in front of you in which you will have to enter the name of your bank or the first four digits of the IFSC code of your bank.
Now you will get a list of all those bank accounts in which your mobile number will be linked (registered).
Now select reply to that bank account with the given number (1,2,3...) and reply.
Now you have to press the last 6 digits of your Debit Card (ATM) card of your bank and then click on send.
Now the expiry date of the debit card will have to be mentioned, after which your UPI PIN will be generated.
Now again you have to dial *99#
After dialing *99#, you will get many options, from sending money to transaction information.
If you just want to send money, reply by pressing 1.
After that enter the mobile number of the person to whom you want to send money.
Now you will be asked how much money to send, give information about it.
Now enter UPI PIN for final payment. Payment will be done.
Please note that *99# will only work with the mobile number that is linked with your bank account. The UPI PIN will be the last 6 digits of your Debit Card (ATM) card.
