Reliance Jio has become the largest telecom company in the Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh circle. Jio has added 42.8 lakh, new customers, in a year, after which the total number of subscribers of the company has increased to 3.31 crore. According to new TRAI data, Reliance Jio had 2.88 crore subscribers in Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh in December 2019, which increased to 3.31 crore in December 2020. In such a situation, the number of customers of the company has increased by about 42.8 lakhs.
Jio has benefited greatly in the Corona period. During this period, Jio has added a large number of new customers, while Vodafone Idea has seen a decline of 35.5 lakh subscribers. Vodafone had 2.49 crore subscribers in December 2019, which declined to 2.13 crore. In 2020, the number of subscribers of Airtel has decreased by 57.7 thousand. The company had 1.476 crore subscribers in December 2019, which declined to 1.471 crores in December 2020.
BSNL also suffered losses
BSNL has also lost 44.06 thousand subscribers during 2020. The number of subscribers of the company decreased from 63.15 lakh to 62.71 lakh, although the number of mobile subscribers of the circle has increased. The total number of mobile subscribers in Madhya Pradesh increased from 7.48 crores to 7.55 crores in 2020.
TRAI has also released the revenue figures of the telecom companies for the third quarter of FY 2020-21. The total income of Reliance Jio in Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh for the quarter of October to December 2020 was Rs 1,571.48 crore. At the same time, Vodafone Idea's income was 671.98 crores and Airtel's income was 668.18 crores. BSNL's total income was Rs 95.67 crore.
According to TRAI's December 2020 report, there are 115.3 million mobile subscribers across the country. Reliance Jio has 40.8 crore subscribers in the country, Airtel 33.8 crore, Vodafone Idea 28.4 crore, and BSNL's 11.8 crore subscribers.
